Humility
Humility is meekness of heart: taking up the yoke and learning because Christ is meek, and humble of heart. The words we quote are Matthew 11:29:
Take up my yoke upon you, and learn of me, because I am meek, and humble of heart: and you shall find rest to your souls.
What the virtue does is count others better than oneself:
Nothing by contention, neither by vain glory: but in humility, each counting other better than themselves:
Those two verses name the moral virtue we mean by humility. They do not settle whether theism or atheism is scientifically proven. Holy Lean records both site quotations as equal to the Douay-Rheims source strings. Humility is warranted by those two verses together, Matthew 11:29 and Philippians 2:3. Theism
Theism, on this site, is a strong claim: that we live in a universe with a divine, omniscient creator who will judge each person for their actions. From intellectual honesty, that position lacks sufficient evidence. It should not be considered proven according to the scientific method. See Grokipedia Theism. That encyclopedia page covers many historical uses of the word. The claim we name here is the one on Faith.
Atheism
Atheism, on this site, is the strong claim that we do not live in a universe with a divine, omniscient creator who will judge each person for their actions. It should not be considered proven according to the scientific method. See Grokipedia Atheism. That encyclopedia page covers many historical uses of the word. The claim we name here is the denial of the theism defined above.
Science
Science is natural philosophy: knowledge of nature by observation and a loop of theory and evidence. See Grokipedia Science and scientific method.
Scientific method
Methodological reasoning about empirical observations made of nature that either validate or invalidate theories and models. Science works by a loop of theory and evidence. See Grokipedia Scientific method. We do not consider the scientific method to be contradictory to anything stated in scripture unless there is proof to the contrary. Russell's teapot is a named example on Faith of how the method treats claims that are hard to check.

Named scripture on this site includes the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20), the Beatitudes (Matthew 5), and Genesis 3. Quoted words are the Original Douay-Rheims, not King James: Old Testament, English College of Douay, 1609; New Testament, English College of Rheims, 1582. Dataset: cryptoquick/original-douay-rheims (unmodified historic translation, not Challoner). We treat the lessons of the Ten Commandments and the Beatitudes as a shared moral framework we will operate under. We read Genesis 3:24, with Philo of Alexandria, as a picture of the theory-and-evidence loop, not as a laboratory result. Surrounding prose is American English. Quoted spelling stays as printed.
Commandments
The Ten Commandments named on this site are Exodus 20:1-17 as this edition numbers them in the Original Douay-Rheims. Verse 20:1 is the printed preface. The explanations after each verse are ours, not scripture. The commandment we bind on speech is Exodus 20:16:

Explanation. The Lord spoke the words that follow. This verse introduces the spoken law.
I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the Land of Ægypt, out of the house of servitude.

Cherubins
Genesis 3:24 in this edition says Cherubins (plural), Paradise of pleasure, and a flaming and a turning sword:
And he cast out Adam, and placed before the Paradise of pleasure Cherubins, and a flaming and a turning sword, for to keep the way of the tree of life.
Holy Lean maps the vocabulary term cherubins to that
citation and those words. Later English
cherubim, the Akkadian gloss
karibu, and
Philo are separate notes on those entries.
Cherubim
Later English often writes cherubim. Genesis 3:24 in this edition prints Cherubins. The Grokipedia Cherub page gives Hebrew kərūḇ, plural kərūḇīm (keruvim), and the usual English plural cherubim. That page does not quote the 1609 Douay text. We keep Cherubins in the verse we quote.
Karibu
The word karibu is a later historical gloss. It does not appear in this Douay-Rheims edition. Other spellings in the same discussion include Karubim and kāribu.
The Grokipedia Cherub page proposes an Akkadian background: karābu, "to bless" or "to pray"; kāribu (diminutive kurību) as intercessory spirits; kirubu, "great" or "mighty." The same page compares those figures to shedu and lamassu gate guardians at temples and palaces. William F. Albright, on that page, rejects a direct Akkadian loan. The etymology is debated.
That is comparative history of the Cherub page's Akkadian notes. Genesis 3:24 on this site remains the printed verse. This site does not treat those Cherubins as lamassu, and it does not treat Genesis as Enuma Elish. Enuma Elish is a Babylonian seven-tablet combat creation (Marduk and Tiamat). That Grokipedia page notes parallels with Genesis. It does not name cherubim. The Garden of Eden page, in later English, says God stationed cherubim and a flaming sword to guard the way to the tree of life from the east. The words we quote remain Paradise of pleasure, Cherubins, and a flaming and a turning sword.
Philo
Philo of Alexandria was a Hellenistic Jewish philosopher who read the Pentateuch by allegory. That Grokipedia page is biography and method. It does not treat On the Cherubim.
C. D. Yonge's English of the treatise is titled A Treatise on the Cherubim; and On the Flaming Sword; and On the First-Born Child of Man, Cain. In one allegory there, the two figures symbolize goodness and authority, and the flaming sword is the symbol of reason, "prompt and fiery reason." That English is Yonge, not the Douay-Rheims. A Grokipedia Holy of Holies summary of temple cherubim as divine wisdom and guardianship is that page's summary, not Yonge's wording.
On this site we read those two Cherubins as the Angel of Theory and the Angel of Evidence, working conjunctively in the theory-and-evidence loop. That picture is ours: Yonge's English of Philo is different, and the Douay-Rheims verse is the quotation above.

Bitcoin
Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer electronic cash system: no trusted third party as the monetary base. See Grokipedia Bitcoin and Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. On this site it is also a direct challenge to nation-state monetary sovereignty + a voluntary check on central banker overreach. If we want to avoid the violence and bloodshed typical of hyperinflation, Bitcoin must be the first option. Bitcoin is the natural choice, and it still has flaws. That wording matches Philosophy.
NAICS
NAICS is the North American Industry Classification System, the Census standard for classifying business establishments. Sector 52 is Finance and Insurance. That is not this work.
Computer systems design
Computer systems design is NAICS 541512: planning and designing computer systems that integrate computer hardware, software, and communication technologies. That is the Census wording. The work is high-assurance compute infrastructure: defense in depth across software and hardware, provably hardened, including Bitcoin infrastructure research. See Philosophy.
High assurance
High assurance here means defense in depth across software and hardware, provably hardened compute infrastructure. Trustless systems rest on that work. Holy Lean does not prove that Bitcoin will win or that Surmount will endure in the world.
Fiat
Fiat money is government-issued money not convertible to a commodity. See Grokipedia Fiat money. The dollar as we know it has only been that way since 1971. Fiat systems end as those before them ended. That 1971 sentence is our historical reading of the Nixon shock.
Jubilee
We want the demise of the dollar to be a joyous debt jubilee, not chaos. Debt jubilees every fifty years should return as a matter of course. The scripture is Leviticus 25: the fiftieth year of Jubilee. That biblical law is distinct from the site's 1971 historical reading. These are printed framework verses, quoted in full. Natural law is a body of universal principles of right conduct, inherent in the nature of things and discernible by reason, not only by statute. See Grokipedia Natural law. We work toward a hardened, defensible monetary system, built on that. Applied mathematics + cryptography are emergent properties of nature. They are extrajudicial.
Honest weights and measures
Surmount Systems is founded on Christian principles, including honest weights and measures. The words we print are Leviticus 19:35-36, Deuteronomy 25:13-15, and Proverbs 11:1. These are printed framework verses, quoted in full.

Operating system
An operating system is the privileged software that owns the machine. The kernel runs at the highest CPU privilege, supervisor mode. On x86 that is ring 0. It owns hardware, memory, processes, and I/O. User programs run at lower privilege and ask the kernel for those services. See Grokipedia Operating system.

Grok OSS is a userspace harness: an open source Grok Build fork that accepts pull requests. It will help us bootstrap the operating system we aim to build. See Projects.
Quantum computing
Quantum computing uses quantum mechanics to compute. The unit is the qubit, which can be in superposition of 0 and 1 until measured. That is a class of machine. See Grokipedia Quantum computing. Large, fault-tolerant quantum computers that would break today's public-key cryptography are research aims, not shipped products.
Optical compute
Optical computing uses light (photons) instead of electricity (electrons) to compute. See Grokipedia Optical computing. Fully optical computers remain research. Hybrid photonic parts exist in labs and some data-center interconnects.
Neuromorphic in-memory compute
Neuromorphic in-memory compute puts computation in the same hardware that stores the state, often analog circuits meant to resemble synapses, rather than shuttling data between a separate processor and memory. There is no dedicated Grokipedia page for that phrase. Related device work appears on Grokipedia Memristor, which names in-memory computing and neuromorphic hardware. That page is about the circuit element. This is a research aim.
Post-quantum cryptography
Post-quantum cryptography is classical cryptography designed so that known attacks on a quantum computer do not break it. See Grokipedia Post-quantum cryptography. On this site that means BIP 360 (proposed) and libbitcoinpqc: signatures and a proposed Bitcoin output type.
Provably perfect
On this site, provably perfect means the best we can, despite everything: logical consistency of our printed claims and of the OS we aim to build.
Endure
If our contributors and friends and loved ones are most protected against all conceivable threats to the things they value, we will endure where others fail. That is printed company philosophy. Holy Lean records the claim; the model does not prove the outcome.
